Project Yamare

A project to document the lake rejuvenation work being done at the Yamare village in Bengaluru, this was a collaboration with The climate Pledge, and a creative agency in the USA. The task was to plan a shoot and gather footage that would fit well with other content being produced globally for The Climate Pledge, which aims to help the environment and fight climate change.

Team Qrious worked with the teams at The Climate Pledge and the USA based agency to bring forth the best approaches and tactical decisions to get this project done in record time. We went from initial meeting to shooting on field within 5 days! The shoot was completed in 2 days, with one day on field and the other day being with corporate leaders who were supporting this work through their organisations, like Amazon in India.

The lake, when we went into the area for a location recce, was just open land, with shrubs, trees and grass growing all over the place that was supposed to be the lake. We learnt that this is exactly the place which needs to be rejuvenated to be a lake again, like it was years ago. That was the story, told through the stakeholder who live around the lake and stand to benefit with a water body being back in place, in situ.

The team worked magic overnight and planned how we would cover the story, bring it to life on screen, all while staying true to the core message of the film.

The film

The resulting film, with the hard work of team Qrious led by Kunal Deshpande as Executive Producer, Sharan Ranjit as the director, and Arfan Abulazeez as the Director of Photography. Ably assisted by Ankith Sharan for Line Production, Shritij Kamath on production assistance and drone management, Gershwin Paul Denessen as assitsant (production) and spot.

Some of the frames that were beautifully captured by our ace DoP Arfan. Shot with an ARRI Alexa Mini LF, with Zeiss Supreme lenses, we were able to deliver stunning visuals in an un-controlled natural location.
